We’re very proud to announce that Morrisons has chosen Dragonfly Foods to be sold in its South West stores as part of a programme to put more local food on customers’ plates.
Morrisons customers will be able to buy a range of Dragonfly products in 46 stores from 16th August after Dragonfly attended a Morrisons local supplier event in Rattery in Devon in March.
Morrisons first announced the search for local food and drink makers in February after research found that customers want to see more food and drink made and produced ‘just down the road’ from their communities.
More than 50 suppliers applied to take part in Morrisons local foodmakers programme and the top 20 were then invited to the event at Rattery Village Hall where they met Morrisons customers, buyers and the local WI.
Dragonfly Foods is one of five suppliers who is now being listed in the supermarket following a successful final round meeting with Morrisons buyers at the head office in Bradford.
Chris Beckingham, Morrisons Local Solutions Manager said: “Our customers tell us they want to see more food and drink produced locally in our stores and our foodmakers programme aims to do just that. Sourcing more local food and reducing the distance food travels is a priority for Morrisons so we’re delighted that Dragonfly Foods is going to be stocked in some of our local stores.”
Amanda Robson from Dragonfly Foods said: “We are absolutely delighted that Morrisons have selected our products to be a part of their local foodmakers programme. We often get asked by customers why they can’t buy our products from their local supermarket and now we can proudly tell them they can thanks to Morrisons!”
